I have stretch marks, tattoos, hip dips, scars & other “imperfections”…

is what makes me, ME.

GROWING UP…

I never felt comfortable in my body and it caused a series of bad decisions in my teen years. As I entered my mid 20’s I realized almost every single woman I knew hated something about her body! I watched women that I love tear themselves apart and get into bad relationships simply because they didn’t value themselves based on their body. THIS is the moment that shifted everything for me and I realized all this self-loathing is in our minds. We’ve been trained to tear ourselves apart for the sake of the beauty industry to sell us something so we can “look better”. I made it a personal goal to show women of all shapes, sizes, and ages that it’s time to stop looking at ourselves under a microscope and stand in our power. I can say for damn sure that it is time to stop looking at the media & embrace our individuality! This sparked an idea to create a safe space in Fort Plain for lingerie photoshoots where women of all types can feel empowered and see the beauty in the skin they are in.

Over the years I’ve shared tears with women that have HORROR stories from simply existing. Women have been insulted about their size while walking down the street, being embarrassed by employees while shopping for bras that are too small or too big for that brand, being asked in a condescending manner if they can fit in a booth at a restaurant. I’VE NEVER BEEN SO ANGRY before. Men would never be on the receiving end of any of these stories no matter what body type they have but that’s a whole other conversation. But WHY aren’t businesses made to include all body types and sizes?! Why should anyone worry about not finding their size, not finding a seat, and not having a normal experience like straight size bodies?! I knew I needed to create a safe space for all women to feel beautiful and confident in. I was very mindful of all of this when designing my studio in Fort Plain specializing in plus-size boudoir photography; all furniture is luxurious in size and rated for 400lb or more because THIS is the new normal. This is the world I want to live in, a world that is inclusive and every body is treated with respect.

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I’m always sharing new lingerie coming into the studio for clients to use for their Fort Plain lingerie photoshoot. I make it a point to tag the brands and mention if they are size inclusive or not. I think it is important to ask companies that I am doing business with to also be size-inclusive, some message me back while others brush off my messages and I choose to no longer shop with them. I am showing up on all of my platforms to normalize all bodies in boudoir because everyone deserves the opportunity to have their story told through images and experience body acceptance. This is why I started my lingerie photoshoot business in Fort Plain specializing in plus-size boudoir photography.
