Top 12 most frequently asked questions about boudoir Photography
What women are asking us when they inquire!
The thought of a boudoir session can be scary, I get it! When talking to women about booking I’ve been asked all kinds of questions… some that you might be wondering as well. So I put them all in one place to give you some insight on preparing for a session with us!
Do you share my images?
Our number 1 priority is making sure that our clients are comfortable, which is why you get to choose if you want to share your images or not! We have three options: A full share, Anonymous (No face), or No Sharing at all. There are a plethora of reasons someone might not want to share and we totally get that! Sometimes when you are learning how to love your body you might not be ready to share the image with the world! Most of these babes do end up switching to share their images after they see how gorgeous they are but that is totally their call! Another thing to consider is your career, we photograph a lot of teachers, law enforcement and lawyers all of which can’t share their images online.
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You don’t have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality and what your end goal is for your session! There are a bunch of outfit ideas other than lacy little things. Our most favorite is a white tee, this looks amazing in our wet set and shower set! Jean jackets, Oversize Sweaters, and Uniforms are a few other outfits that are super popular in our studio!
Do you have payment plans?
Yes we offer prepayment plans for all collections and products! There is a session fee to book the session, this holds your date and includes your makeup artist, access to the studio closet, the actual session time and a separate viewing and ordering appointment. All digitals and products are seperate and eligible for a prepayment plan. Lots of babes that utilize them to schedule 3-12 months in advance so they can get the products of their dreams and break it up into easy payments.
Is hair and makeup included?
Makeup is included in all of our boudoir shoots and we also will add loose curls (we go over this more in our prep guide). I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having makeup done is a great way to do that. Our amazing team of makeup artists help complete the boudoir look, whether that’s subtle makeup or full on glam. You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup but we recommend looking on Pinterest for inspiration with women that have similar features as you (Almond eyes, hooded lids, square face shape, ect.).
Do you photoshop my images?
I do edit your images! We smooth skin, remove temporary blemishes (acne, bruises, scratches), and add our signature color edits that make your images POP. We do not edit out anything permanent, unless requested. If there are any parts of your body that you don’t want highlighted we will discuss this before your session and use posing and lighting to make you shine!
Where should I buy outfits?
Let’s start out by saying we have over 500 pieces of lingerie in our studio closet so don’t feel like you HAVE to go out and buy something. Now if you are someone that loves lingerie and wants to bring your own outfits we send out a full prep guide with direct links to places we love to shop at (you won’t find VS on this list!). If we had to pick just a few: Honey Birdette (xs-xl), Thistle and Spire (xs-3x), Torrid (L-6x), and Tuttie Rouge (for larger busts up to 48G).
What type of print products do you offer?
We offer a variety of albums and luxury prints. Whether you are drawn to classic leather, lush velvet or a luxury glass cover we have a range of options to find the perfect album for you. Prints range from 8x12 for your nightstand up to 20x30 metal prints for right over top of your bed to remind you every morning of what a badass you are!
Do you offer digitals?
Yes! We now offer a collection that is just digitals and most of our collections include corresponding digitals that are in your album! Digitals are delivered in an online gallery.
I’m so nervous! How can I calm my nerves?
Being nervous is totally normal and part of the process! It’s almost weirder if you’re not nervous. Usually after you are through the hair and makeup portion of the session you are more relaxed, once you see that back of the camera is really when it’s easier to let go of the nerves.
How many different outfits can I wear?
This depends on the collection you prepay for! Every session comes with our bed and choice of living room set with one outfit. Each collection comes with 1-3 bonus sets like the shower, kitchen, tub, and romantic set and we pick extra outfits for each set. For example if someone gets 2 bonuses in their collection and chooses the neon and the wet tee shirt set they would get two extra outfits for these sets.
Should I get to my shoot early?
If you’d like to arrive early you can hang out in your vehicle or walk around town until your scheduled time. We don’t open the studio doors until the time we planned for.
Where is your studio located?
We are located in Fort Plain, NY. It’s 5 minutes off the thruway coming from Albany or NYC direction. All other directions have a beautiful scenic drive of upstate NY. We have a Stewarts gas station on one side of the studio and a true value hardware store on the other other side. Our building itself looks like a house, all black with brown trim and a large mural on one side.
